I finally fooled with the settings on the little Nikon digital I bought months ago after my last one conked out and was able to get some decent shots of our home.
I love checked fabric and skirted tables.
Even though my favorite kitchens for years have been white kitchens, our kitchen is not white for a reason. The long winter we endure and all the exposure from the large windows demand warm wood and dark stone. We are covered in snow most of the winter so plenty of white on the outside through the glass. Warm and cozy inside, lots of pillows, warm toned fabrics, blankets and rustic wood furniture.
(please ignore the takeout cup, better styling next time, did not even think to try to make everything look camera ready!)
I love striped candles, you can buy them here.
Irish dresser in the dining room with hydrangeas from the garden.
Succulents from the patio that were just brought in, hope they are happy indoors this winter.
Branches from the yard that I glued fake leaves to.
Gallery wall of photos from our property, an easy way to fill a wall, the wall needs more now that I see a photo of it and analyze it...hmmm. Husband's beloved recliner facing his television in English pine armoire on unseen wall.
I am propagating baby plants started from cuttings. This is my tiny "greenhouse".
More checks...please excuse the crappy photo.
Another gallery wall, this one with family photos hung randomly. Should have zhushed the pillows, actually this whole photo shoot would have been better with some zhushing. Next time.
Kooboo chair with more checks. Should have straightened the panel.
That is how the house looks as we prepare to hibernate for the winter, perhaps more photos later of the rest of the house and our beautiful wooded surroundings.
