I don't usually decorate for St. Patrick's Day.
It's not a big highlight at my house. But since Easter is later than usual this year, I thought it might be fun to make something this year.
I stumbled across this easy idea the other day and thought I could make that using my silhouette and put my own spin on it.
I hit the jackpot last year at a few garage sales with $1 frames of all different sizes and shapes. They are sitting in my garage, waiting for a project. So I grabbed a small one and painted it green. Then I sanded it lightly and put a little stain over the top.
I measured the opening and cut out a piece of foam core board {is that what it's called??}. I got out my Silhouette and typed a bunch of letters in with a "lucky" toward the bottom. Then I printed it out in black vinyl. And I also printed off just the "lucky" letters in green vinyl, along with a little shamrock that I downloaded from the Silhouette Online Store.
I put the vinyl on the foam board, except that I peeled the black "Lucky" words off. I put the green "Lucky" on the board in the empty space. Then I found a spot at the top of the board for the Shamrock and I peeled off one of the letters and put the Shamrock there.
The last thing I did was hot glued two coordinating ribbon on the back of the frame. And I was done.
Easy project!
And you could do this for any holiday --
Easter, Birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas, you name it.
Also, you don't need a Silhouette to make this project. You can get scrapbook letters, stamp it like the original did OR you can design it on your computer and frame it.
So there's my easy St. Patrick's Day project.
Do YOU have any St. Patrick's traditions?
Do YOU decorate?
xoxo
I'm linking this up to The CSI Project's -- Green/St. Patrick's Day Challenge this week!
And I'm sharing this idea at these fun parties - check them out!!
