Hey Tatertots & Jello gals.
Its Cheri from
I am a wife and a home schooling Mom--I have 4 great kiddos
Jenn and I have known each other for quite a while. She is always coming up with such creative ideas. She is so perky all of the time--she is like the Mary Poppins of blogland.
It is an honor to be here today.
I worked on a project to show you gals.
The PB NEST pillows are so popular so I decided to put a little twist on my design.
Then after I finished my project I went over looking for something else over at the PB only to find this:
Seriously I had not seen this before I made my design--have I been under a ROCK?
I grabbed some canvas that I had on hand and pressed it all nice and smooth.
{I had 2 pieces plus some extra to rip into strips}
{I grabbed some cotton Osenberg that was a little darker too}
Then I wrote in free hand --with a pencil--right onto one of the pieces of fabric.
I wish I could say I used this font--but it was free hand.
I grabbed my DecoArt paint, fabric medium and dazzling metallics paints.
First--I mixed a little bit of the paint with equal amounts of the fabric medium, mixed it together and then painted the letters
H, m and e. I let it dry and then the next day I mixed a tiny bit of the metallics paint with the fabric medium and went over a few areas to give it a little razzle dazzle, I let it dry.
Once it was dry I pressed over the letters --just as the instructions tell you to do so.
Then I ripped each of the letters apart into even rectangles for each one. I liked the ripped edges.
Then it was time to make the "O".
I ripped a couple strips of the canvas and Onesberg fabrics, plugged in the hot glue gun and started twisting and glueing with tiny dabbs of glue.
Then I glued each of the letters onto the other piece of fabric.
I love it
A new "TWIST" on the NESTING idea
This piece can be hung or finished off as a pillow.
I pulled a wooden egg I have from another project and laid it in the nest--
Come on over to Its So Very Cheri" to put your name into a random draw for this piece.
(it does not come with the egg)
Come check out my fabric tape and chalkboard tape that I made for my tape party.
I will be posting another really cute tape project that I did for my little girls Shabby Chic Bedroom on Friday.
Come back over to see what I did.
I am also one of The DIY Club gals.
And I have a fun party that goes up every Sunday--it is open 7 days a week
with 7 different categories. I features bloggers each week.
Thanks for having me, Jen! It's be so fun!!
Thanks Cheri! What a fun project.
I love that nest idea!
Cheri has a great, beachy style. Maybe because she lives in Florida. Can you tell I'm jealous of her wonderful weather? Lucky!!
Be sure to stop by It's So Very Cheri and say hi!!
xoxo
