Rebranding Greece

I love Greece. It's the heart of the Mediterranean, the mother of democracy, philosophy, mythology.... I LOVE GREECE! It hurts like having a scab pulled off when Greece is constantly being ridiculed by the media like the black sheep. The Greek politicians do not help with the image of the country either!!! Peter Economides discusses the problems facing the Greek 'brand' and how to rebrand Greece and Greeks. You can also follow Peter on twitter.

Just eat meat!

Chuck & Blade is a university project by Jason Cook and Jenna Josepher who set out to go beyond branding a fictional restaurant. The fictional steak house celebrates meat lovers and butchery. Sounds macabre, but really it's been quite tastefully done using brown paper with black text and red highlights and the odd blood splatter. The pair used humorous copy for their viral marketing.

Studio spotlight: &Smith

Some lovely work by London based studio &Smith. Their portfolio includes hotels, books, packaging, websites, logos and identities. See more on their site, here's a taste.

GranArt makeover

I love makeovers! Fashion, packaging, logos, furniture, home...any and every kind!!! So for me this is just yummy! The product looks more wholesome, healthy and authentic. The rebrand increased sales by 19% in less than six months. Shows what a difference a well thought and well designed brand can do for company images and sales. I think this is definitely a nominee for an award this year. Designed by Carré Noir Italia.

Wanderlust Hotel branding

Earlier this month I posted about the Wanderlust Hotel's interior and architecture which opened in Singapore in July 2010.  This time it's about their branding by Foreign Policy Design Group (what a cool name!!). Completely embracing the meaning of the word wanderlust (very strong or irresistible impulse to travel), FPDG made use of travel elements such as maps, airport luggage tape, tags and tickets, with a bit of a vintage twist. The colours and brown paper feel old and make lovely keepsakes. Have a browse through their site for more lovely branding work.
