Spagnola & Associates's pencil wall

In 2011, NYC based Spagnola & Associates faced the challenge of designing their new office space. They created a 20' wide dimensional wall to stimulate ideas and complete the office. 2804 pencils were hammered into pre-drilled holes in the panels. The completed wall reads, in custom designed letters, good design lasts. The entire process is documented in a stop motion video.

The Vegetable Orchestra

Worldwide one of a kind, the Vegetable Orchestra performs on instruments made of fresh vegetables. The utilization of various ever refined vegetable instruments creates a musically and aesthetically unique sound universe.

A couple of great ideas inspired by Google: The Google me business card was designed by Ji Lee, who started out as graphic design and now works as the creative director at Google Creative Labs in New York. I think maybe the card had something to do with this (?).

Google Map envelopes has the route printed between the two addresses, and would be available to print through your gmail account. This is only a concept at the moment. I can't seem to find the designer responsible for this idea, but what a sweet concept. Not only would the letter be something you'd keep by the envelope tells the journey of the letter from A to B.

Mila's Daydreams

You may have seen these as they are making their way around blogs. Adele Enersen's maternity leave hobby is to photograph her daughter Mila while she takes a nap. She creates imaginary dreamscapes around her on the carpet, trying not disturb the little one, trying to imagine what Mila could be dreaming about. She keep a blog of all the photos which you can see here.

Touch & Vision by Julia Georgiallis

My friend Julia Georgiallis did a research document (I think it was her dissertation) in her final year at Kingston University based on touch and vision. The product design graduate (1st class I might add) approaches it with sensitivity and sensibility, using feedback from blind and visually impaired people on blogs.  Her solution is simple and affordable for large retailers to do, enabling visually impaired people to make fashion decisions. Paper-cut-project

Paper-cut-project is a paper engineering project by artists Nikki Salt and Amy Flurry. Using only paper and glue, the girls have made a series of fantastical wigs and masks. You can view their website here.
