Power of love

For the launch of a new shoe collection 'Melissa Power of Love', the Melissa Gallery orginized a stop-motion video using post-it notes on the front of their building. 25 animators were involved over a 5 month period, and over 30,000 visitors wrote love messages on the paper notes. Now that's love! I've previously posted about Melissa shoes here.

They chose to illustrate Lust and created this spunky animation that looks like the opening credits of an 80's porn flick. The beautiful typography is by Henrik Wold Kraglund and Jon Arne Berg.

LOVING this new video for Chris Brown's song I can transform ya. According to an interview with the video director Joseph Kahn, Chris 'invented' a dance style that's like a hyper-tensed robot. The transformations fit perfectly in with the dancers moves. Woohoo...loving the boy-culture video - kung fu, hot chicks on bikes, fast effects and flashy cars. Very glossy, very  sexy.

Logorama

Logorama is a 17 minute short animated film depicts events in a stylized Los Angeles, and is told entirely through the use of more than 2,500 contemporary and historical logos and mascots. The film won the Prix Kodak at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, also Oscar nominated for Best short Animated film. 


Spectacular! All logos were used without permission. Spooky to see how many you can recognize and what memories you have associated with some of them.


 Written and directed by H5 / François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy and Ludovic Houplain, and produced by Autour de Minuit.

Seriously lovely work by 3D Animator, Denis Constantinou. Above is a group project for the D&AD student awards. Below is his totally cute, brilliantly funny Hams Off! which was his final MA project. I love the choice of opera music and no dialogue. Makes it more universal and lets the character's actions do the talking. Perfect!
